Abstract | The invention relates to a device (1) for measuring a surrounding area (2) using a transit time measurement of laser beams (4i) reflected thereon, comprising a beam deflecting device (13) with at least one mirror surface (18 - 25), which can be rotated or vibrated about a rotational axis (26) that is not normal to the mirror surface, and comprising a first laser transmitter (111) with a corresponding first laser receiver (141) and a second laser transmitter (112) with a corresponding second laser receiver (142), each of the transmitter and receiver devices (301, 311, 302; 312) thereof being arranged parallel to one another in pairs and lying at different angles (?1, ?2) to the rotational axis (26), wherein the first laser receiver (141) is arranged at a distance (PX) to the first laser transmitter (111), and the second laser receiver (142) is arranged at a distance (PX) to the second laser transmitter (112), in each case in the direction of the rotational axis (26).
