Abstract The balancing of the state of charge of a plurality of flow battery electrolytes is better achieved by a method for a battery having a plurality of flow battery stacks in series and supplied with electrolytes from at least two stores, in which the stacks each having a plurality of cells, the method including measuring and comparing the state of charge of the electrolytes of the respective stores and registering if the states of charge differ by more than a threshold and in the case of the state of the charge difference threshold being exceeded: controlling the number of cells in the series connection of the stacks whereby the less charged electrolytes discharge through fewer cells than the more charged electrolytes and/or controlling the number of cells in the series connection of the stacks whereby the less charged electrolytes are charged through more cells than the more charged electrolytes. L'équilibrage de l'état de charge d'une pluralité d'électrolytes de batterie à flux est mieux obtenu par un procédé pour une batterie ayant une pluralité d'empilements de batterie à flux en série et alimentés avec des électrolytes à partir d'au moins deux magasins, les empilements ayant chacun une pluralité de cellules, le procédé comprenant la mesure et la comparaison de l'état de charge des électrolytes des magasins respectifs et l'enregistrement si les états de charge diffèrent de plus d'un seuil et, en cas de dépassement du seuil de différence de l'état de charge, la commande du nombre de cellules dans la connexion en série des empilements, les électrolytes moins chargés étant déchargés à travers moins de cellules que les électrolytes plus chargés et/ou la commande du nombre de cellules dans la connexion en série des empilements, les électrolytes moins chargés étant chargés par plus de cellules que les électrolytes plus chargés.
