Abstract An electric braking system (1) for aircraft, comprising of: a brake (3) with an electromechanical actuator (5) created so that when it applies a lower or equal to effort to the first maximum threshold on the friction organs (4), no degrading of the actuator is produced, and when a greater effort than the first maximum threshold is applied on the friction organs (4), degrading is likely to occur; customizable controllers (7) in a first mode, where the commanded braking load cannot surpass the first maximum threshold, and in a second mode, in which the commanded braking load can reach the second maximum threshold; methods of control (10) arranged to set up the controller (7) in the second mode in a situation preceding a possible takeoff interruption (RTO) of the aircraft, and in the first mode if not.
