A trailer for transporting a freight container is comprised of a frame having a front frame section which is adapted to be coupled to a suitable road vehicle. A pair of displaceable horizontal side beams are secured to the front frame section and are provided with a hingeable rear gate formed by a pair of hinge arms. Each of the side beams has a suspension assembly to support a tandem wheel arrangement. Retractable vertical lifting piston cylinders are secured to a portion of the front frame and to the pair of hinge arms and are actuable to lift the pair of horizontal side beams and its wheels above a ground surface. Laterally extendable piston cylinders are also secured to the front frame and the hinge arms to displace the horizontal side beams outwardly and inwardly with respect to one another when lifted off the ground surface. Container lifting posts are secured to opposed ends of the front frame section and the hinge arms for removable connection to a container positioned between the side beams to lift and lower the container therebetween. Container connectors are secured to each of the side beams for securing a container thereto for transportation. L'invention porte sur une remorque pour transporter un contenant de fret, laquelle remorque composée d'un cadre ayant une section de cadre avant qui est apte à être couplée à un véhicule routier approprié. Une paire de poutres latérales horizontales pouvant être déplacées est fixée à la section de cadre avant et comporte une porte arrière pouvant être articulée, formée d'une paire de bras d'articulation. Chacune des poutres latérales possède un ensemble de suspension pour supporter un ensemble de roues en tandem. Des vérins à piston de levage vertical rétractable sont fixés à une partie du cadre avant et à la paire de bras d'articulation et peuvent être actionnés pour lever la paire de poutres latérales horizontales et ses roues au-dessus de la surface du sol. Des vérins à piston pouvant être étendu latéralement sont également fixés au cadre avant et aux bras d'articulation pour déplacer les poutres latérales horizontales vers l'extérieur et vers l'intérieur l'une par rapport à l'autre lorsqu'elles sont soulevées de la surface du sol. Des montants de levage de contenant sont fixés à des extrémités opposées de la section de cadre avant et des bras d'articulation pour une liaison amovible avec un contenant positionné entre les poutres latérales, pour lever et abaisser le contenant entre celles-ci. Des connecteurs de contenant sont fixés à chacune des poutres latérales pour fixer un contenant sur celles-ci pour le transport.
