Abstract The invention relates to a printing device comprising an electrophotographic printing group, to which a transfer medium for transferring a toner powder onto a substrate in a transfer zone is allocated. According to the invention , the substrate can be conducted through the transfer zone by means of a transport system and thermal energy can be introduced into the substrate by means of one or more heating elements. To improve the quality of the printed image, a cooling device is allocated to the transfer medium, said device withdrawing thermal energy from the latter.
