Abstract Devices and methods are provided for facilitating the delivery of EM energy between microstrip transmission lines (34) and dielectric-filled waveguides (14). A transition (10) incorporates a longitudinally extending housing. An element feed is disposed at least partially within the housing with a first end of the element feed being configured to electrically communicate with th e microstrip transmission line (34). Additionally, a dielectric material (18) preferably surrounds at least a portion of the element feed and is disposed at least partially within the housing so that the housing and the dielectric material (18) form the dielectric-filled waveguide (14).
