PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF MALEIC ANHYDRIDE FROM MALEIC ACID

: The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of maleic anhydride by dehydration of maleic acid, which comprises heating maleic acid at a temperature of from about 100 to about 210.degree.C under a pressure of about 30 to about 760 mm Hg in the presence of sulfolane.
