There are disclosed novel substituted N-amino-1,2,4-triazinones of the formula I in which R1 represents hydrogen, C1-C12-alkyl, C3-C6-cycloalkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy-C1-C6-alkyl, C1-C2-haloalkyl, phenyl, benzyl, phenethyl, phenpropyl, phenbutyl, phenpentyl, or a phenyl, benzyl, phenethyl, phenpropyl, phenbutyl or phenpentyl radical which is monosubstituted or disubstituted by halogen, C1-C5-alkyl, C1-C2-haloalkyl, methoxy and/or ethoxy, R2 represents hydrogen, C1-C6-alkyl, C3-C6-cycloalkyl, or represents phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by C1-C12-alkyl, halogen or C1-C12-haloalkyl, or R1 and R2 together form a saturated or unsaturated 3- to 7-membered carbocycle, R3 represents hydrogen or C1-C6-alkyl and Z represents -N=CH- or -NH-CH2-, and their salts with organic or inorganic acids, their preparation and intermediates for their preparation, their use in the control of pests, and pesticides which contain a compound of the formula I as active substance. The preferred field of application is the control of pests on animals and plants.
