The grass trimmer head (10, 30, 50, 291, 292) further comprises a middle piece (34) for transferring torque between the spool (12, 32, 52, 291a, 292d) and the head housing (11, 31, 51, 291b, 292a) such that one of the spool (12, 32, 52, 291a, 292d) and the head housing (11, 31, 51, 291b, 292a) rotates along with the other. The spool (12, 32, 52, 291a, 292d) drives the middle piece (34) to rotate.
