A filter medium (26, 26A) comprises a core yarn (20), a pressing yarn (21), and a filament (21a). At least one of the core yarn (20) and the pressing yarn (21) can be fused and bonded to the other, and the core yarn (20) and the pressing yarn (21) are twisted together. The filament (21a) is a hairy filament (22a) that can be fused and bonded. The filament (21a) is disposed between the twisted core yarn (20) and the pressing yarn (21) and is fused and bonded to at least one of the core yarn (20) and the pressing yarn (21). A filtering device (31, 31A, 31B) filters a processed liquid using a filter medium layer (37, 37A) including the filter medium (26, 26A). A method for manufacturing the filter medium (26, 26A) is also provided.
