Summary:In order, in the oven of a cooker, also to be able to treat items to be cooked with steam, there is inserted in the bottom (3) of the oven muffle a pot-like evaporation vessel (4) which is connected to a water supply line (5). Advantageously, the connection is to a water filling container designed as a drawer (6) in the region of the operating panel (7). In order to avoid condensation in the cooking space, the cooking space wall is heated before production and introduction of steam and in operation, both with circulating hot air and with steam, the heating elements for both heating types are switched on in a timed manner and alternately.
