Summary:The urbanization process in cities brings several alterations to the urban boundary layer, that directly or indirectly may lead to the formation of different microclimates in different regions of the city, causing diverse comfort conditions. The development of bioclimatic analysis regarding urban climate must have as a final goal the establishment of concrete proposals for a climate oriented urban planning. This paper presents a brief history of Curitiba´s urban planning and a summary of the set of studies carried out by the authors on urban climate, including methodology, results and discussions. Finally, some conclusions are drawn and further research topics are suggested.
