Deterrence as one the most important areas of study in international relations and strategic studies, is included in scientific issues that is raised as the most important subject of strategic studies. In other words, among the present questions in this field is this fact that how we can prevent from war that causes a lot of costs on units. Answering to this question will lead to formation of theoretical concept of deterrence. Hence, creation of this type of relationship will have a firm correlation with strategic power of partners, type of strategy, and also identification of effective factors in formation of such strategies that pose in mold of theories, methods, and its designation in a system as variable. In this regard, the present research conducted in a descriptive-analytical manner and relying on library studies, tries to analyze the theoretical foundations of the concept of deterrence in international relations, structure, design models and different strategies in this type of control system, especially, tries to analyze its new and regional implementations in the modern international system.
