Objective To investigate the effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nursing combined with continuous nebulization in nursing of elderly patients undergoing tracheostomy. Methods Totally 60 patients aged 60 years or older with cerebral hemorrhage, respiratory failure, coma and other diseases were included as research subjects. According to the order of tracheotomy, 30 patients with odd numbers were included as the control group and 30 patients with even number were included as the study group. The control group received routine ICU care and intermittent nebulization inhalation for 15～20 minutes each, and number of nebulization was adjusted on the basis of sputum viscosity. The study group received TCM nursing intervention combined with continuous nebulization. The duration of lung infection and retention time of tracheotomy catheter were compared between both groups were compared between two groups.
