Abstract A considerable number of ancient and middleage numismatic discoveries from archaeological diggings and hoards are preserved in the public and private collections of the Republic of Moldova. Their inventory is incomplete and outdated. Since 2007, a group of Moldavian numismatists, next to French, Romanian, Pole and Slovenian researchers, are part of the European Research Group „Monetary Discoveries” / Groupement de Recherche Européen (GDRE) “Trouvailles monétaires”, project that is being cofi nanced by the Science Academy of Moldova. For our country, the result of the research will consist in the publishing of two tomes in French : Corpus de Trésors de Moldavie and Trésors majeurs de Moldavie.
