Abstract | The sweet potato is one of the most important vegetable in human nutrition, being understood as a rich source of nutrients that is used up in the production of ethanol, demonstrating the future capacity of the same and income generation. It is healthy source of food, which at its roots has been a systematic accumulation of several nutritional components. In the United States of America (USA) the population consumes a lot of general potato and there it is known that the sweet potato is important. The same is true in various countries of the world, because the sweet potato has been producing the highest degree of dry roots for animal and human consumption and industrial uses. The weeds are common in sweet potato cultivation and stand out in relation to culture, if not make a proper management due to various specialized and adaptive tools invasive. The weed management should be done by integrated methods, thus optimizing the use of preventive, cultural, mechanical, physical, biological and chemical practices, resulting in higher crop productivity. Chemical control is the most widely used due to lack of hand labor for weeding. Most herbicides are applied: Fusilade (Fluazifop-P-butyl), Gramoxone (paraquat) and glyphosate drying, with a residual period of one week. The efficiency of each of the control methods may vary depending on the species of weeds in the area, weather conditions among other things. Intensive farming and monoculture gives greater powers to the weeds and how, in most cases, a single control method does not work and the practice of fallow is not done, then the Brazilian production is low. Thus, the adoption of different methods comprise an effective portfolio, for a good weed control and tigueras, achieving good yields and consequently higher profit. |
