Abstract Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of acupoint application therapy combined with moxibustion on postoperative constipation in patients with thoracolumbar compression fracture. Methods Totally 100 patients with constipation after surgery for thoracolumbar compression fracture were randomly divided into two groups. The control group (n=50) was given routine guidance and nursing measures, and the experimental group (n=50) was given Traditional Chinese Medicine acupoint application combined with moxibustion treatment based on routine care. The clinical efficacy and anxiety status by Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) of the two groups were compared. Results The overall effective rate in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group (90. 00% vs. 82. 00%, P<0. 05 ). The SAS score decreased in both two groups after intervention, and SAS score in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group (P<0. 05 ). Conclusion Acupoint application combined with moxibustion is effective to re
