Summary:This paper illustrates Herder's countenance with respect to the discussion on pantheism occurred in the late 18th century, originally between Jacobi and Mendelsohn, but which reached the most influential minds of that time. Herder's "Spinozism" begins as a monistic and pantheistic position pursuing the speculative developments of German Idealism, and which can be conceived of as an alternative philosophical conception to Kantian dualism and transcendentalism.
