Summary: | During the of communist-atheist period, Orthodox theology in Romania wasdirected in three major areas, namely: a) the teaching activity and exclusivelytheological research; b) the major aspects of church life and its inner unity; c)ecumenism. Under the infl uence of the communist socio-political context inRomania, the problems of the contemporary world to which the Church was calledto give an answer and a solution were associated mostly with an understandingof the Orthodoxy as a ministry to humanity and its progress. Thus, RomanianOrthodox theology has been driven to develop and deepen new aspects of therelationship between the Church and the world, the Church and the society. In theanthropological fi eld, Father Dumitru Stăniloae offers a unifi ed vision on man,society, and relationship between man and the world he lives in.
