Summary:Taking as its basis the nine categories of standards set out in the Global Standards for Social Work Education and Training, the paper studies and critically assesses the social worker education system at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo. The study suggests that overall the current education system satisfies the criteria set by the Global Standards, thanks to its several decades of experience in social worker education. However, the assessment is not uniformly favourable, and the paper therefore focuses in particular on the standards relating to the main aim of the institution, the programmatic plan, the main curriculum, the qualified personnel, social work students, and cultural and ethnic differences.
