Summary:Adherence to treatment in elderly citizens is influenced by multiple factors. In order to achieve effective results, a patient-centred approach is needed, focused on empowering citizens to take an active role in their care. Despite the information available in literature, gathering the experience of relevant healthcare stakeholders that are active in this field could be useful for understanding which are the most important factors to take into account for having an activated patient that adheres to a treatment agreed and produced together with a proactive and prepared care team. This paper presents the preliminary results of a study aiming to use the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to elicit user needs and to identify these factors.
