Abstract Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), a redox-active lipid with significant hydrophobic properties, has been found to have lower levels detected in tissues and organs of individuals with certain chronic diseases. This observation has led to the hypothesis that supplementing Coenzyme Q10 can alleviate symptoms of aging and/or delay the onset of these diseases. As a result, there appears to be a positive influence of CoQ10 in certain neurological diseases, including Alzheimer disease, seizures, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and multiple sclerosis. This review would discuss the current complementary methods of CoQ10 and explore its therapeutic potential in the treatment of neurological diseases.
