Summary:Automation of solid municipal waste management affects such subject areas as collection, transportation, sorting, processing, reusing, as well as storage and landfilling of solid municipal waste. The purpose of the research carried out in the work is to improve the methodological apparatus and models of municipal solid waste management within the framework of housing and communal services management. The features of the use of neural networks for recognizing fragments of municipal solid waste when using the automatic sorting model are considered. An algorithm for sorting municipal solid waste has been developed. An algorithm for the processing of municipal solid waste has also been developed. Variables and arrays used to automate the management of municipal solid waste sorting and processing are defined. The physical meaning of arrays and variables is defined. The purpose of the algorithms blocks and the order of their interaction are considered.
