Abstract The best learning design for any given situation is one that is efficient, effective and culturally correct for an organization. Therefore, using a combination of learning strategies and delivery media is often the best way to achieve this balance. This chapter presents guidance on how to design an effective blend. Blended learning is a well‐executed blend of learning methods and media that are appropriate to the stages of the complete learning journey, sensitive to the learner's situation, correctly address stakeholder requirements and reflect and/or replicate the context of the content, skill or capability being learnt to deliver the outcomes required. The perfect blend would be one that is transparent to the learner, where the right method and media mixes are available at the right time and place, making learning intuitive and part of the fabric of everyday working life. It can, and is being used by organizations to nurture evolutionary changes in organizational learning culture.
