Abstract | The global interest towards Open and Distance Learning (ODL) in higher education landscape has increased tremendously during the period of COVID-19 pandemic. Institute of higher learning is in high alert into making sure the curriculum delivery of all its program are uninterrupted to sustain student enrolment, its key core business. The top management of higher learning institution is forced to identify the right approach to get pass through this new normal of delivery. The real challenge now is to find the right balance between preparing the right skillsets among lecturers with the most suitable online learning avenues based on the internet-capability demographic of the remote students. This paper presents the strategic avenues for ODL management that was executed at UiTM Pulau Pinang during the COVID-19 pandemic. The strategic selection-methodology of the ODL Avenue based on the related dominant factors are analyzed and discussed. Stakeholders feedbacks function as the corrective learning input are presented to prove that flexibility in avenue selection must be offered to make sure every student is engaged so that the institute of higher education can sustain its role. Recommendation are made to improve the ODL avenue selection process by predicting future dominant factor in online learning landscape. |
