Summary:Examines the epistemology & interdisciplinary methodology of the Women in Conflict Zones Network (WICZNET), an academic-activist organization created in the early 1990s at York U, Toronto, to conduct research on the gender relations of militarized conflict. WICZNET is addressed in relation to debates about the "globalcentricism" & neo-liberalism of many feminist organizations in order to shed light on the possibilities & limitations of future feminist networking & activism. An overview of WICZNET's history highlights the bringing together of academic feminists from all over the world & the establishment of a project that compared the situation of women in the war zones of Sri Lanka & the former Yugoslavia. Consideration is given to the Network as a site of "dialogue"; WICZNET's opposition to a neo-liberal cosmopolitan & hegemonic approach; the self-identification of its members as feminist anti-nationalists; & current discourses of two globalization movements: Women & the Politics of Place, & the World Social Forum. It is hoped that this personal critique of WICZNET will allow other networks to learn from WICZNET's experiences. References. J. Lindroth
