Abstract | Over the last decade, the phenomenon of mis- and disinformation has come to the fore of popular, academic and political discourse. It is widely seen as a scourge to civil society and a challenge to democratic governance, but policy solutions seem as contentious as ever, showing no signs of broad agreement on what can be done to enhance cognitive and societal resilience, particularly without treading upon precious liberal principles like free speech. David V Gioe, Robin Brinkworth and Marina Miron offer a suite of policy options that are humanities-based to complement the more frequently researched technological approaches to combating mis- and disinformation. ◼ |
