Summary: | This study investigated various physiological activities to examine the applicability of functional materials of Crataegus pinnatifida fruit extract. C. pinnatifida fruit extract showed a low cytotoxicity against murine melanoma B16F10 cells. C. pinnatifida fruit extract showed high a DPPH radical scavenging activity (ID50, 7.6 μg/mL), inhibited tyrosinase activity (ID50, 137.8 μg/mL), and decreased melanin content (ID50, 54.5 μg/mL). The treatment of B16F10 cells with C.
pinnatifida fruit extract suppressed the protein expression of tyrosinase in a dose-dependent manner. These findings suggest that C. pinnatifida fruit extract inhibits melanin synthesis by suppressing intracellular tyrosinase expression. Additionally, C. pinnatifida fruit extract inhibited elastase with ID50 value of 128.1 μg/mL and contained isoquercitrin. These results indicate that C. pinnatifida fruit extract is an appropriate natural material. KCI Citation Count: 0 |
