『소시민』에 재현된 피란서사

본 연구는 이호철 『소시민』의 인물서사를 중심으로 피난지 부산이 어떻게 재현되었는지 살펴보고, 그 의미망을 고찰하였다. 『소시민』의 피란서사는 한국전쟁기 다양한 계층과 역사를 가진 피란민들이 부산이라는 ‘새로운 차원’의 시공간으로 편입해 새로운 질서에 반응하면서 상승/몰락해 가는 과정을 담고 있다. 이때 등장인물들은 저마다의 특수한 역사적 경험을 표징하고 있으며, 이들이 후방의 생존전투에서 죽고 살아남는 양상은 세대, 젠더, 계급, 지역 등에 따라 다양한 차이들이 포착된다. 또한 이들을 포진하고 있는 서사적 플롯에서 이념/생활력, 강자/약자, 남/여, 과거/현재, 내부/외부, 생/사, 정상/비정상의 이원화가 직진의 서사를 향하지 않는다는 점이 발견된다. 과거의 모든 발판은 와해되었지만 반공주의는 생활력과 더욱 단단하게 결탁했고, 전시 후방의 병약한 남성을 대신해 생활전선에 나선 여성들의 신체는 혐오의 프레임에 갇히거나 성적주체로 등장하면서 금기/위반의 경계를 넘나들고 있었다. 살아갈 기력이 없는 퇴물들은 추방되었지만, 살아남은 자들의 눈물을 타고 현재의 시공간에 흘러들어왔다. 하여 피란지의 생존 전투는 죽기/살기, 적군/아군의 이분법으로만 환원되지 않는 복잡한 생활전선을 형성한다. 작가는 이처럼 경계의 안팎을 넘나드는 혼란의 소용돌이를 서사화함으로써, 정상/비정상, 내부/외부의 경계가 불분명한 전쟁 안에 예측할 수 없는 삶의 현장을 드러내며, 이 지점에서 피란지의 역동성을 발견할 수 있다. This study examines how Busan was recreated as the refugee center, focusing on the character narrative of Ho-Chul Lee's Sosimin, and examines its meaning. The evacuation story of Sosimin focuses on the process by which people with various classes and histories during the Korean War merged into a ‘new dimension’ of time and space called Busan and rose/fallen as they responded to the new order. In this process, each character represents a special and historical experience. And the pattern of surviving and dying in the battle for survival in the rear varies according to generation, gender, class, locality, etc. In the narratives that surround them, the duality of ideology/viability, strong/weak, man/woman, past/present, inside/outside, life/death, and normal/abnormal is found escaping. The ideology was defeated by the vitality, but the anti-communism was more tightly linked with the vitality. And the bodies of women who took the place of the weak men behind the war and were trapped in the frame of hatred. Debris without the energy to live was expelled, but flowed into the present time and space with the tears of the survivors. Therefore, the battle for survival of refugees forms a complex life front that cannot be reduced to only the dichotomy of death/living, enemy/ally, and taboo/violation. KCI Citation Count: 0
