랑시에르의 미학적 체제에서 바라본 정치적 디자인에 관한 연구

본 연구의 목적은 미학과 정치 그리고 디자인의 상관관계를 자크 랑시에르(Jacques Ranceère)의 이론을 중심으로 감성의 분할과 재배치라는 차원에서 고찰하고, 이를 감각의 재편성을 통해 정치적 디자인의 가능성을 보여주는 데 있다. 1) 몸이 세계를 느끼는 방식인 ‘미학’과 감각적인 것들이 부딪혀 ‘불일치(dissensus)’를 이루는 ‘정치’가 ‘감각적인 것의 분할’이라는 동일선상에서 디자인의 정치적 행위와 어떠한 불가분의 관계를 맺고 있는지 알아본다. 2) 디자인의 정치적 행위를 랑시에르가 말하는 예술의 미학 체계 안에서 살펴보기 위해서 ‘디자인’의 실천과 이념을 모던디자인의 기본이 되는 ‘전형’, ‘표면’, ‘상징’으로 나눠 이를 통해 감각의 분할이 이뤄지는 현상들을 구체적으로 살펴본다. 이는 무질서한 스타일에 동일한 원칙을 적용하여 ‘전형’적인 형태를 구축하고, 이미지와 텍스트의 이질적인 결합으로 재탄생된 ‘표면’, 그리고 새로운 삶의 형태이자 공통 이념인 ‘상징’으로 감각의 분할이 재배치되는 정치적 현상들을 말한다. 3) 이렇게 탄생된 현상들은 기존 디자인된 사물에서의 기능과 사용성의 존재방식이 변용을 일으키고, 폐품으로 만든 가방은 불일치를 통해 감각을 재배치함으로써 명품을 만든다. 또한 이미 세상에 존재하는 사물들이 재(re-)사유를 통해 공동체의 합의된 감각을 재(re-)분할하는 등 감각적인 것들을 미학적 체제 안에서 정치적인 문제로 ‘디자인’이라는 매체를 살펴본다. 따라서 본 연구는 디자인된 사물이 감각의 불일치로 끊임없이 충돌하고 재배치되면서 공동체의 합의된 감각으로 재분할되는 것을 미학적 체계 안에서 증명될 수 있는 정치적 디자인으로 연구 가능성이 충분함을 증명한다. The purpose of this study is to examine the correlation between aesthetics, politics, and design in terms of rearrangement and the distribution of the sensibility around Jacques Ranceère’s theory, and to demonstrate the possibility of political design through re-organization of senses. 1) This study seeks to confirm if ‘politics’, the element which forms ‘dissensus’ when the ‘aesthetics’, the way in which the body conceives the world, and other sensuous components collide, forms any inseparable relationship between the political action of design, at the collinear level of ‘reorganization of the sensuous components’. 2) In order to examine the political action of design within the aesthetic system of the art which Ranceère mentions, this study specifically examines the phenomena that lead to the partition of sensation by separating the practice and ideology of ‘design’ into ‘type’, ‘surface’, and ‘symbol’, the basis of the modern design. In turn, this refers to the political phenomena that lead to the rearrangement of the sensuous partition from the establishment of the ‘typical’ form by applying the same principle to seemingly chaotic styles, the ‘surface’ which is reborn by the heterogeneous combination of the image and text, and the ‘symbol’, the form of the new life and mutual ideology. 3) The phenomena, born through this process, cause transformation in the function and usability of the pre-designed object, and the bag made off of junk rearranges the sense through dissensus to transform itself into the masterpiece. Additionally, by setting the sensuous elements, such as repartitioning the sense that is agreed upon by the community by rethinking on objects that already exist in the world, as the political issue within the aesthetic system, this study reviews the medium called ‘design’. Therefore, this study proves that political design bears sufficient research potential as the political design that can prove the repartitioning of the pre-designed object as the sense that is agreed upon by the community while endlessly colliding and rearranging due to the dissensus.
