지역 축제 평가결과와 만족도 간의 관련성 분석: 2012-2014년 축제를 사례로

유망 지역 축제를 지원하기 위해 행해지는 지역 축제의 평가는 기간에 시행된 지역 축제의 성공 정도를 잘 반영하여야 한다. 전국의 많은 지방자치단체에서 경쟁적으로 시행하고 있는 지역 축제들은 성공과 실패의 사례를 남기고 있어, 지방 재정의 효율적 집행을 위하여서는 축제 지원을 위한 평가가 잘 이루어지는지를 확인할 필요가 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 2012~2014년 기간의 지역 축제 자료 분석을 통해 지역 축제의 실제 성공 정도가 지역 축제 평가 결과에 의해 잘 반영되고 있는지를 검토하였다. 이를 위해 축제 성공 지표인 선택속성 변수와 방문자의 만족도 간 관련성을 파악한 후, 방문자 만족도와 지역 축제 평가 결과 간 유의한 관련이 있는지를 확인하였다. 이를 통해 결국 축제 성공지표가 축제 평가 결과에 반영이 되는지를 확인하고자 하였다. 분석 결과, 지역 축제 지원을 위한 축제 평가 결과와 방문자의 전반적 만족도 간 관련의 유의성을 확인할 수 없었다. 이는 지역 축제 성공 정도의 지표인 선택속성 변수들이 축제 평가 결과에 적절히 반영되고 있지 않음을 시사하여, 현행 지역 축제 평가의 개선과 관련 후속 연구 수행 등의 필요성을 제기한다. The evaluation of the local festival events that supports promising local festivals needs to well reflect the degree of success of the local festival events that have been implemented. Many local governments of the country have competitively implemented local festival events, some of which turned to be a success, while others not. This alerts the need for investigating whether the evaluation of the local festival events is appropriate, in order to better execute the provincial finance. The paper investigates this using the data of cultural tourism festivals from 2012 to 2014. More specifically, the paper first examines the relationships between choice dimensions (festival success index) and visitors’ satisfaction, and then identify whether visitors’ satisfaction and festival evaluation results are significantly correlated. This after all indicates whether the festival success index are well reflected in the festival evaluation results. The findings tell that choice dimensions well explain the visitors’ satisfaction, whereas the visitors’ satisfaction does not have a significant correlation with the festival evaluation results. This potentially implies that the current scheme of the local festival evaluation needs more rigorous validity test and additional research and practice for the improved evaluation protocol.
