Summary:Purpose: This study was conducted to provide the basic data for stress coping intervention research by analyzing stress factors and coping methods among dental hygiene students. Methods: From October 27 to November 15, 2021, a self-reported survey was conducted among dental hygiene students attending a college located in Area C, who agreed to participate in this study after being informed of its research purpose, method, and ethical considerations. A total of 153responses were finally analyzed. Results: The stress factor analysis results were as follows: In the first grade, the stress level was significantly higher in the non-religious group and the lower economic and study levels. The stress-coping behavior was found to be higher in the third grade, and the economic level was higher in the median group (p<.05). A negative correlation was confirmed between stress factors, emotional relieving coping methods, and wishful thinking coping methods (p<.05). Conclusion: It is necessary to identify problems through regular interviews to reduce stress and improve stress coping methods among dental hygiene students. Hence, stress coping programs and various studies to assess stress levels should be conducted on an ongoing basis for this audience. KCI Citation Count: 1
