왕안석의 詠史詩 연구 ― 歷史人物을 논평한 시를 중심으로

본 연구는 왕안석(1021~1086)의 영사시 중 역사인물을 논평한 41수를 집중적으로 분석하여, 그의 시가 정치적, 사회적 맥락과 깊이 연관되어 있음을 밝히고자 했다. 왕안석의 영사시는 단순한 역사적 인물의 재조명이 아니라, 그의 정치적 입지를 강화하고 신법 개혁을 지지받기 위한 강력한 목적성을 띠고 있었다. 특히, 1070년에 집중된 그의 역사 인물 논평시는 당시 신법 시행과 반대파의 저항이 심화되는 시점과 맞물려 있으며, 이러한 맥락에서 왕안석은 역사적 인물을 통해 자신의 정치적 이상과 개혁 의지를 효과적으로 드러냈다. 역사인물 선정에 있어, 그는 주로 자신의 상황과 유사하거나 정치적 의도를 담기에 적합한 인물을 선택했고, 논평 내용 역시 정치적 논쟁과 맞닿아 있었다. 이는 문학적 창작을 넘어, 영사가 정치적 설득력과 메시지를 전달하기 위한 수단으로 활용되었음을 보여준다. 본 연구는 왕안석의 영사시가 개인적 이상뿐만 아니라, 당시 사회적 변혁의 도구로써 역사의 힘을 강조하며 활용되었다는 점을 재조명하였다. 이를 통해 영사가 가지는 문학적, 정치적 의의와 그 영향력을 고찰하고, 왕안석 시 세계에 대한 다각적인 이해를 도모하였다. This study focuses on analyzing 41 of Wang Anshi’s (1021-1086) Yongshi poems that critique historical figures, revealing their deep connection to political and social contexts. Wang Anshi’s Yongshi poems are not merely a reevaluation of historical figures but serve as a powerful tool to strengthen his political position and garner support for his New Policies reforms. In particular, his Yongshi poems commenting on historical figures concentrated in 1070 coincide with the intensification of resistance against the New Policies. In this context, Wang Anshi effectively used historical figures to articulate his political ideals and commitment to reform. In his selection of historical figures, Wang Anshi primarily chose individuals whose circumstances resonated with his own or were suited to convey his political intentions. The content of his commentary similarly aligns with ongoing political debates. This demonstrates that his Yongshi poems transcended literary creation to become a medium for political persuasion and messaging. This study reexamines how Wang Anshi’s Yongshi poems emphasized and harnessed the power of history, not only as a reflection of his personal ideals but also as a tool for social transformation during his time. By doing so, the study sheds light on the literary and political significance of Yongshi poetry and offers a multifaceted understanding of Wang Anshi’s poetic world.
