Summary:This study analyzed the social discourse on renewable energy policy, which is carrying out a strong change in energy transition of China. We collected big data from renewable energy as keyword in three Internet-based channels (Baidu, Wei Bo and Wechat) that can effectively examine the discourse of Chinese society, and constructed data sets related to them through text mining. Based on this, we conducted semantic network analysis and continuous core-periphery model analysis of renewable energy in which tried to find actors, major keywords, and important themes surrounding renewable energy policy. The results of the analysis are as follows; First, ICT-related words(Internet, data, smart, platform) have strong centralism and influence on the development of renewable energy; Second, the words(Company, Technology, Science and Technology, Platform, User) that diffuse and utilize renewable energy more than the traditional keywords (Hydropower, wind, solar, biomass, geothermal) related to renewable energy have formed socially strong discourse. Finally, based on the analysis results, we suggested implications for mutual cooperation and development between Korea and China.
