개화기 독본의 한글 깨치기 학습 자료에 관한 연구

이 글은 개화기 독본에 수록된 한글 깨치기 관련 학습 자료를 분석하여 이들의 특징을 밝힐 것을 목적으로 한다. 여기에서는 개화기에 발간된 국어 과 교재 중 한글 깨치기 학습 자료가 수록된 『심상소학』, 『초등소학』, 『국어독본』, 『초등소학』, 『신찬초등소학』 등 5종의 교재를 대상으로 ‘한글 깨치기지도법에 따른 특징’과 ‘반절표 제시 양상에 따른 특징’, ‘한자 사용 여부에 따른 특징’ 등의 세 가지 기준에 따라 이들 교재에 수록된 한글 깨치기 학습자료의 특징을 살펴보았다. 한글 깨치기 지도법에 따른 특징을 살펴보면, 『심상소학』을 제외한 나머지 교재들은 발음 중심 지도 자료와 의미 중심 지도 자료를 병용한 ‘절충적지도 자료’를 수록하였다. 이 중 의미 중심 지도 자료가 다소 우세하게 나타난『초등소학』을 제외한 나머지 교재들은 두 가지 지도 자료가 거의 대등한 형태로 제시되었다. 또 반절표 제시 양상에 따른 특징을 살펴보면, 『심상소학』이 가장 먼저 182개 음절을 제시한 반절표를 수록한 가운데, 『초등소학』은 『심상소학』과 똑같은 반절표를 수록하였다. 그러나 『신찬소학』과 『국어독본』은 『신찬소학』의 그것을 체계화시키고 확장시킨 반절표를 각각 수록하였다. 한편 한자 사용 여부에 따른 특징을 살펴보면, 한글과 한자를 혼용한 교재가『초등소학』, 『신찬소학』 등 2종, 한글만을 사용한 교재가 『심상소학』, 『국어독본』, 『최신소학』 등 3종이었다. This study focus on the feature of the ‘Hangul’(meant Korean character) learning material in the Korean language textbook during the Enlightenment period by analysis of its contents and composition. There are 14 Korean language textbooks in the era, but textbook that contained the Hangul learning material is only 5, so a subject of study is that 5 textbooks. And I applied 3 criterions of analysis: teaching method; feature of ‘Banjul-pyo’(meant table that arranged Korean syllabic in ‘Banjeol’ style); using a Chinese character. In teaching method, all textbook except 『Sim-Snag-So-Hak』 had a learning material that arranged by eclectic teaching method. And in feature of ‘Banjul-pyo’, 『Sim-Snag-So-Hak』 is the first textbook which has the ‘Banjul-pyo’, and 『Chodung- So-Hak』 has same ‘Banjul-pyo’ as 『Sim-Snag-So-Hak』, but 『Sin-Chan-So- Hak』 and 『Guk-Uh-Dok-Bon』 developed it qualitatively and quantitatively. Finally, in using a Chinese character, there are 2 textbooks hat used both Hanhul and Chinese character, 『Cho-dung-So-Hak』 and 『Sin-Chan-So-Hak』, but the rest used only Hangul in the Hangul learning materials.
