Abstract To study the reasons on the dramatic increase of nasal allergy in Japan recently, we carried through skin scratch tests among the university students of the same age between Japan, the developed country and China, the developing country. As the results, the positive rates of Japanese were significantly higher than those of Chinese. Usually, the sensitization and the incidence of allergy was considered to be due to three main reasons the quantity of allergens, the capacity of antibody-creathing of human body, and the atmosphere as the mediator. It was our opinion that the different positive rates was mainly attributed to the different quantity of exposure to allergens.

It was our opinion that the different positive rates was mainly attributed to the different quantity of exposure to allergens. 日本で近年鼻アレルギーが激増しているその理由を明確にする目的で、経済発展国としての日本と途上国の中国の大学生の年齢層の被験者に、スクラッチテストを実施した。その結果、日中の被験者群では日本の被験者の陽性率が、中国のそれよりも有意に高かった。アレルギーの感作と発症には、アレルゲンの量、人体の抗体産生能、媒体としての大気の3要因が考えられるが、今回の結果からはアレルゲンの量の相違が陽性率の差にもっとも関連しているように判断された。
