Summary:A fifty-three-year-old man came to our hospital complaining of abdominal pain. Computed tomography (CT) revealed dissection of the superior mesenteric artery. We chose the conservative therapy. At 9th day, duplex ultrasonography revealed the direction of the retrograde blood flow in the false lumen. The isolated splanchnic artery dissection is relatively rare, but in late years the reports of this disease are increasing. The duplex ultrasonography is useful for a diagnosis and observation of the splanchnic artery dissection.
