Summary: | This study concerns the development of hauyne-belite cement with the aim of creating energy-efficient cement that can be used as an alternative to Ordinaly Portland cement. Due to concerns for potential trouble from sulfur-originated coating in the manufacturing of clinker containing at least 40% hauyne, the study considered the development of hauyne-belite cement that contains 30% hauyne. It was found that adding boron increases the mortar’s compressive strength to a level equivalent to that of Ordinaly Portland cement. The concrete had good durability in terms of drying shrinkage and freeze-thaw resistance. Compared to Ordinaly Portland cement, it is expected to save approx. 20% of energy. |
