Summary:Postoperative pharyngocutaneous fistula is a difficult complication that occurs with reconstruction of the pharynx after head and neck surgery involving resection of the pharynx. The treatment and management of postoperative pharyngocutaneous fistula have not been established. We have developed a treatment with a new material and method, using polyvinyl acetate sponge and suction catheter. We consider that this technique can reduce leakage of saliva and prevent skin dermatitis.
