Summary:We clarified endoscopic findings in subjects with positive fecal occult blood tests. [Methods]Endoscopic findings for several sites were investigated with respect to the number of positive tests and examination procedures. [Results] 1. Lesions in the right side colon increased with the number of positive tests. Furthermore, the rate at which endoscopic findings were found at each site increased with the number of positive tests.2. The incidences of polyps and cancer increased with the number of positive tests.3. Wi th respect to examination procedures, lesions in the right side colon increased with the number of stool occult blood tests-positive patients. [Conclusion]The rate at which cancer was detected was high in patients who underwent examinations several times and in those with several positive tests.
