I review publishing printing technology research in the 00’s dividing typesetting technology, printing technology and printing technology history. In typesetting technology, electric typesetting technology has matured, at the same time character code problem became controversial, Ondemand Printing technology which was believed as a new publishing system by publishers has developed. In printing technology history research, the research of the style of Japanese hot-melt type has progressed rapidly. Printing technology, however, has become connected with electric publishing technology, It has become difficult to discuss printing technology and electric publishing technology separately.
