Summary:A 56 year-old female with a complaint of dull back pain visited a local clinic. An abnormal shadow was detected and she came to the National Cancer Center Hospital. A round shadow located in the right middle lobe measured 27×25mm. Biopsy revealed non-epithelial malignant cells. Right middle lobectomy combined with mediastinal lymphnode dissection was performed. Histological and electron microscopic studies of the specimen showed leiomyosarcoma of the lung. This particular case of primary sarcoma of the lung was discussed with reference to the literaure on the subject.
