Summary:Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is the most common malignancy in the head and neck region, while malignant lymphoma (ML) is relatively rare. According to reporting, synchronous double cancer of squamous cell carcinoma and malignant lymphoma in the head and neck is extremely rare. A 61-year-old man was referred to our department because of a tongue mass. The mass was elastic-hard and located on the right border of the tongue. Various imaging examinations revealed multiple lymphadenopathies throughout the body. Biopsy resulted in a diagnosis of synchronous double cancer of squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue and follicular lymphoma (FL). During a tumor clinical therapeutic conference, it was decided to prioritize tongue cancer treatment. Following preoperative chemotherapy, we performed a right-sided modified radical neck dissection, tongue cancer resection, and reconstruction using a pectoral major musculocutaneous flap. He was then given chemotherapy for the FL at the Department of Hematology and made good progress. Since the prognosis for synchronous double cancers is affected to a large degree by the order of treatment, it is very important to collaborate with the relevant specialized departments to provide multidisciplinary treatment.
