各種の難治性皮膚疾患に対するDexamethasone propionate外用剤の有効性ならびに安全性を検討した. 症例は75例 (男性41名, 女性34名, 平均年齢は54歳) で, 紅斑症 (12例), 特発性色素性紫斑 (20例), 肥厚性瘢痕・ケロイド (15例) 等が集積された. 結果として, 最終全般改善度において, 治癒: 11例 (14.7%), 著しく軽快: 19例 (25.3%), かなり軽快: 18例 (24%), やや軽快: 20例 (26.7%), 不変=6例 (8%), 悪化: 1例 (1.3%) の結果を得た (有効率=『かなり軽快』以上: 64.0%). 特に紅斑症, 毛孔性紅色粃糠疹では, それぞれ, 91.7%, 100%と, 高い改善率が見られた.副作用は毛包炎等が4例 (発現率: 5.3%) に見られたが, いずれも軽度であった.以上の結果から有用率 (『極めて有用』と『有用』の和) は66.7%となり, 高い有効性と安全性が確認された.
