Summary:In an earthquake disaster, schoolteachers should play many important roles. This study aims to develop a framework of various activities that schoolteachers are expected to take appropriate actions during and after the disaster. A number of activities are identified and classsified into eight types: First reaction, management of emergency office, collecting information, education planning, incidental jobs, recovery of facilities and equipment, healthcare and assistance for managing the evacuation shelter. A modal change between the disaster and usual modes is proposed to cope effectively with devastating disaster.
