Summary:The patient was an 8-year-old boy, who showed a fever and cough. He was diagnosed as mycoplasma pneumonia in a neighbor clinic, however, because clinical improvement was not achieved with antibiotics, he was referred to our hospital. Chest X-ray examinations showed an atelectasis of the left pulmonary lower lobe and a lymphadenopathy of the right pulmonary hilum. CT sections demonstrated masses infiltrating the whole mediastinum and the lung. Histopathological examinations of the lymphnode revealed a malignant lymphoma, anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL, Ki-1 lymphoma), T cell type. He was successfully treated with both non-Hodgkin lymphoma therapy and Hodgkin lymphoma therapy. Peripheral blood stem cell autotransplantation was performed with megachemotherapy. He has obtained disease-free survival for one year.
