Abstract The purpose of this article is to use the method of complex network analysis to construct the rural revitalization policy network in southwest China and identify the key policy nodes. In order to achieve this goal, a large number of rural revitalization policy documents have been collected, and with the help of text mining and co-occurrence analysis technology, a policy network model with multiple policy nodes has been constructed. On this basis, the complex network analysis methods such as PageRank algorithm and HITS algorithm are adopted to effectively identify the key nodes in the policy network, revealing the internal structure of the rural revitalization policy network and the influence of the key nodes. The results show that the rural revitalization policy network in Southwest China presents a complex topological structure. Among them, the policy nodes such as "agricultural industrialization promotion policy" and "ecological environment protection and restoration" are highly central and important in the network. With the aid of the assessment of the policy effect, it is found that the rural revitalization policy has achieved remarkable results in economic, social and ecological benefits.
