Summary:This paper presents a 3D approach towards the implementation of a bio-medical image capture and encryption system that can be implemented as a core of portable medical devices for image capture and secure transmission. The multilayered System-on-System (SoS) architecture comprises CMOS imager, memory, 3D-DWT, 3D-AES and an RF transmitter layer. Chips are fabricated by different processes for optimal performance and are stacked and interconnected using TSV (Through Silicon Via), thus enhancing the performance with reduced power consumption. High level of secrecy extends over the personal medical records by the introduction of the block cipher algorithm.
