Abstract The special hysteresis characteristics of a laminated core (LC) under AC-DC Hybrid magnetization are obtained by test. The field-circuit coupled time-periodic finite-element method (TPFEM) combined with the fixed-point method is used to calculate the exciting current and magnetic field of the LC based on the DC-biased magnetizing curve. The behavior of LC with no-load and different loads under AC-DC Hybrid magnetization is analyzed based on the TPFEM.
