Abstract Two types of antenna topology are proposed to identify a high speed RFID tag. Therefore the near-field beam width of the reader antenna was widened along the moving direction of the tag. The first antenna type is an array antenna and the second one is a traveling wave antenna. Measurement results show that both antennas have more wide identification range compared with a single antenna.
